I have never written about politics in this forum but I feel strongly it is time to do so. The United States desperately needs help from those of us who are grounded and conscious.

I grew up in the North during, and fully aware of, the Civil Rights movement -- wanting to ride the Freedom Buses at 15. My father said "no, too dangerous, but there are other ways you can make your voice heard." As a worker for Peace in the 60’s 70’s and 80’s I “retired” after working for the equal rights amendment for women, and freedom for individuals to make their own life choices. I was hoping my political as well as my personal world, would simply keep getting better.

The United States is now engaging in an illegal and immoral war, individual rights are being curtailed, more are being threatened, and children and poor people in our country do not have their basic needs met.

The Core Energetics model of Mask, Lower Self, Higher Self, works when applied to individuals, groups, systems and certainly to governments. Using this model, Hurricane Katrina finally brought the cesspool of the Lower Self of this administration clearly to the surface.

The Mask of the False Self, of our government in Wash. DC, combined with the negativity of its Lower Self, has created a putrid distorted mess. Lies, manipulation and deception of this administrations twisted power is beginning to come to light. We must move past our denial and past our childlike hope that our government will act like a good parent, have our best interests driving their every action. Many of us wish to be taken care of as children-- having a blind faith in our government, just as we wanted to believe that whatever our parents did was good, normal and fine.

Our government is dangerously out of control, their unchecked psychopathy running amuck. As adults it is our job to hold our elected officials accountable. The people must lead and you are the leaders. That is how democracy works.

I see that my strong voice is needed again. It is time to come out of retirement.

I marched for Peace in Washington DC on September 24th. It was an inspiring experience. Being immersed in a crowd of 300,000 people who were of like mind and purpose, felt nurturing to my soul. I usually avoid crowds being too sensitive for their typical chaotic energy-- but this crowd was calm and the energy harmonious. It was a spiritual experience.

I believe the positive future of our country depends on your willingness to act in balance. Your head, your heart and your Higher Self must integrate to then follow your Greater Knowing. Your Highest Purpose. Your Core.

John Pierrakos, founder of Core Energetics, was very interested in politics and dedicated his life to bringing love to the world.

Many of you remember that Wilhelm Reich, the man who researched Orgone Energy was John’s mentor. Reich was sentenced and went to jail for his belief that every scientist had the right to conduct his experimentation with no interference from the government. Reich believed in equal rights for women and the right for everyone to have access to birth control information and sex education. This was not a popular stand in the 50’s. Tons of Reich’s books were loaded into a truck and burned by the FDA in NYC in 1956.

Jesus, Gandhi, and Martin Luther King lived spiritual worldly lives in a human political context. Jesus threw the money changers out of the temple; He championed the poor, sick and socially outcast. By today's standards Jesus would be considered very liberal.

Coming from a deep spiritual base, Gandhi spent his adult life working toward equality and peace in India. Martin Luther King is well remembered for his spiritual- political action toward justice and equal rights among all people of the United States.

Less known but a warrior for justice none-the-less, is Alice Paul, a Quaker, who 8 decades ago peacefully went on a hunger strike while illegally held in jail for picketing in front of the White House. Paul’s action resulted in our Constitution’s 19th amendment that gave women the right to vote in 1920. She dedicated the rest of her life to women’s rights.

Today Cindy Sheehan, a religious woman and a loving mother with a courageous heart, simply asks this administration the pertinent questions and won’t go away until she gets the answers. She inspires me.

Now is a time when conscious action is especially needed. Every one of you has an important role to play in creating enlightened consciousness in your family, neighborhood, town, country and planet.

Follow your deepest knowing, your spiritual path, and get involved in your unique way.

Why Study The Body?

It is wonderful to understand more about your body and therefore understand how you can better care for yourself, feel more, and be healthier.

Your body is where you live. Your body gives you information about everything that you experience in this life.

Without your body you could not feel, taste, see, smell, or hear --anything. Your body also gives you information about what things you should pay attention to. For example if you have a pain somewhere it says ”Pay Attention! something is wrong.”

When you feel bad, scared or are in pain, your body contracts. Your muscles get tense, your capillaries literally contract thus less blood flows to that part of you. You may feel cold. You do not feel good.

Pleasure is also felt through the body as is love.

Feeling pleasure means you are expanded. Your capillaries literally dilate. Blood flows to those parts and creates more feeling experience. There is more sensation and therefore more pleasure possible in an expanded state.

People “in love” say their heart feels wide, big -- warm.

Core Energetics has made a detailed study of the body with particular attention to its character structures to assist you in understanding how your Mask, your personality, reflects in your body.

Core Energetics then teaches you how to move beyond your mask and to be more real, spontaneous, and loving. When you live from your Mask you are in a state of contraction. To be real you must be in an expanded state.

To become real means you have to deal with all the reasons you could not be real as a child. Working with your body is absolutely essential for this transformation to occur. Then you will be able to breathe fully, move with grace and pleasure, and feel all your emotions including sorrow and joy.

The more you know about the workings of your human body the better you understand how to live in it and keep yourself well both physically and mentally.

Psychotherapists traditionally have little to no training about the workings of the human body and its energy.

If you are a psychotherapist you will be better able to assist your clients when you know how the body works. Theirs and yours.

I have created a wonderful class to teach (therapists, students helpers, and all humans) what you need to know about your body. Done with humor and song our class bypasses the usual deadly teaching style for this material and makes it fun.
