Spring Clean Your Lower Self Closet!

Everyone is talking about Spring Cleaning, Fung Shuiing their homes - and getting rid of CC (closet clutter). Some people are actually doing it! In fact yesterday I took a small closet's worth full of clothes I had not worn in two years to Goodwill. Whew did that ever feel good! But what about the clutter that really bothers me? That clutter in my Lower Self Closet. And what about yours?
Let's Get Rid of LSC (Lower Self Clutter)!
What the Heck is the Lower Self anyhow? We think we know, or are beginning to get a handle on it. But most of us need a review.
The Lower Self is comprised of
several aspects.
- It is your Wounded Child that has not been allowed to be expressed. It is all the feeling stuff held in because it was somehow not allowed. Or because we would be punished for the expression of it. No I won't! says the child. Don't you say no to me! says the parent.
Example: No says the child. Then the parent escalates and threatens to: punish, or withdraw love. Both are very scary to the child. Especially the withdrawal of love part. They often happen together - punishment and the withdrawal of love. Then the child complies and creates his/her false self. Mask.
- It is your saboteur. The part of you that has the job of keeping you stuck. Oh you want to expand, be creative, be your true self, express your feelings? Forget it! I will never allow you to be free. What you long for most is what I will make sure you don't ever have. And tell you your stupid for wanting it.
- It is the negativities you harbor that when stagnant become like uranium - the potential for destruction is vast. They explode. Wreaking destruction in your life and others.
To clear out the gunk at the bottom of your closet, it needs to be brought out into the light. Do you know how rotting potatoes smell in the bottom of a dark place? Practically the worst smell I can imagine! But set them out in the sun for awhile and they smell like fertilizer - clean and simply rotting like leaves in a compost heap. Kinda pleasant.
Embracing your lower self is your way toward health. Letting your emotions be felt in the safety of your home - or therapist's office will begin to transform your rotting potatoes to compost fertilizing and energizing your life! Only then can you experience your Core- your place of truth and life. Your Core is your place of realness. Experiences of love, expression, creativity, truth, and expansion reside here.
Ask yourself: Am I living my life the way I long to? Where do I suffer? What do I long for? Do I tell myself the truth? Am I angry for no apparent reason? Do I blame others for my suffering? Am I ill and no one can tell me what I have or why I have it? If I knew I were going to die in a year - how would I want to live differently now?
What negativities do you harbor? Like most of us you may need to clean your Lower Self Closet. Start transforming! Need help? I'm not afraid of your closet demons.

Core Resurrection
Spring! Easter! Renewal! Resurrection! Life!

 With Easter right around the corner it seems a good time to re-consider resurrection. What does it mean to you? Have you ever thought your life was over? Even momentarily? Have you felt your life as you knew it was ended? You felt dead or wished you were dead. Do you wish for some major change? A resurrection? Maybe some time went by and you felt better, life changed, and you felt more alive. Or somehow you came alive? I have felt these dark things several times in my life and always there has been more expansion and light after my "mini death". I experienced a sort of resurrection.
Core Energetics has its view of resurrection. John Pierrakos said that we should not seek God outside of ourselves; we must seek to connect to our Inner God. This Inner God we call our Core Self. How do we reach our Core? And what does that have to do with resurrection?
Reaching our Core takes examination, courage, commitment, effort, and time. As described by Pierrakos the process of Core Energetics goes through 4 stages. 1, Finding the Mask or false self, 2, Working with the Emotions - Wounded Child or Lower Self demons - expressing and transforming them 3, Finding the Higher Self or Divine Potential and becoming more conscious of what our real Truth is. And 5, Discovering our Life Task- our meaning for being on the planet. To do all this we must work with all levels of our human existence, Body, Emotions, Mind, Will and Spirit. When we do this we can go from Dark to Light from Demonic to Divine we feel and are resurrected.
Natural events show us renewal and resurrection again and again. Winter to Spring, Night to Day, and Sleep to a Waking State are some important ones. Right now in Georgia, flowers are blooming and trees are leafing. I always feel the energy of Spring as expansive, hopeful and joyful. It's exciting! Many animals give birth in Spring and human beings fall in love more often in this energy of renewal.
 Carl Jung wrote of the resurrection archetype. The human psyche and desire to expand from death to rebirth comes from ancient times. Stories of Resurrection are archetypal and come from many cultures and Indigenous peoples around the world. At least 4 religions that pre-date Christianity have death and resurrection stories. Mithra, the sun god died and was re-born every 24 hours. Adonis was said to die and rise on the 3rd day. Osiris also died and arose on the 3rd day. Dionysius was born of a virgin and was resurrected by his mother. (Most of us need someone else's help for resurrection!)
These stories are prevalent around the world and have been for millennia. There is something profound about them. They are hopeful and touch us in deeply personal ways. They are here to teach us that we can be reborn into ourselves. We can expand and find the Light. We can die into grace and come out more conscious, more real - less fake. We can transform, resurrect and live from our most Inner Truth. Our Core.

Help End Childhood Obesity
Nearly 1 in 3 children are obese or overweight in the United States today. If current trends continue, today's kids may be the first generation to live shorter lives than their parents.
What's causing this rise? Children are eating increasingly unhealthy foods more often and exercising less. One in four children does not participate in any free-time physical activity, and only three out of ten high school seniors report eating green vegetables "nearly every day or more."
Too many parents don't have enough time to prepare -- or can't afford --healthier foods. Too many schools have been put in the position of ending physical education programs, relying on vending machines with sugary treats to raise much-needed cash, and ultimately serving foods in the cafeteria that may not be the healthiest.
